Chart: New Building Canada Plan — over $53 Billion

This figure describes the main components of the $53  billion New Building Canada Plan (NBCP).

The first component of the NBCP is the $32.2 billion Community Improvement Fund, which comprises the renewed Gas Tax Fund (GTF), with $21.8 billion towards municipal infrastructure, and the Goods and Services Tax Rebate for Municipalities, which represents $10.4 billion and is administered by the Canada Revenue Agency. The figure notes that $291 million from the GTF is administered by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.

The second component of the Plan is the $14 billion New Building Canada Fund (NBCF)3, which is comprised of the $4 billion National Infrastructure Component (NIC) and the $10 billion Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component (PTIC). The PTIC is further divided between the Small Communities Fund, of $1 billion, and the $9 billion National and Regional Projects sub-component. The figure specifies that the NIC includes $155 million that is administered by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development. It also notes that the NBCF includes resources for the Department's program administration.

The third component of the NBCP is the $1.25 billion renewed P3 Canada Fund, which is administered by PPP Canada Inc., a federal Crown Corporation.

The figure further identifies $6 billion as part of the NBCP in funding under current infrastructure programs in 2014-2015 and beyond. This includes funds administered by Infrastructure Canada as well as funds administered by other federal departments.
