Graph 1: Comparison of Authorities Available for Use as of June 30, 2014 and June 30, 2013

  • Levels for Contributions (Voted and Statutory) available as of the end of Quarter 1 (Q1) of 2014-15 were approximately $3.5 billion, which represents a $416 million decrease in comparison to Q1 2013-14 levels.
  • In Q1 2014-15, operating authorities received were $73 million, which represents an increase of $31 million from Q1 2013-14 costs.
  • Capital authorities also increased in Q1 2014-15 to $93 million, in comparison to no capital expenses in Q1 2013-14.
  • Contributions to the Employee Benefit Plan authorities increased from $4.986 million in Q1 2013-14 to $6.543 million in Q1 2014-15.
  • Taking all of the above into account, the total of authorities available for use in 2014-15 represents a $290 million decrease, compared with the authorities available for use in the same quarter in the prior year.

  • Total budgetary expenditures were $710 million, compared to $1,107 million reported in the same period of 2013-14, indicating a decrease of 36% between the two years.
