Text description of the video

The video starts with an introductory slide with a blue cityscape silhouette and, in white, the name of the project in French "Projet de corridor du nouveau pont pour le Saint-Laurent," and in English "New bridge for the St. Lawrence corridor project." The text then fades to "Approche Ouest" in French, and "West Approach" in English. The Government of Canada corporate signature and wordmark are also displayed at the top.

Background music begins to play.

The slide transitions to a map which outlines the entire corridor, highlighting the new bridge for the St. Lawrence, Montréal, and Brossard.

The video then fades to a view of Île-des-Soeurs and Verdun from the cable-stayed portion of the new bridge. A fly-over view of Île-des-Soeurs and Verdun up to the Atwater Interchange then highlights Highways 10, 15 and 20, and the numerous streets to which they connect. These include René-Levesque Boulevard, Île-des-Soeurs Boulevard, Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard, Wellington Street, May Street, and Atwater Avenue.

The computer-generated video then zooms in to give street-level views of the redeveloped Atwater Interchange area, including the section of Atwater Street that will run directly under the highways.

Another aerial view shows the redeveloped May Street area, transitioning to a cross section. The video then shows May Street, which is now unidirectional, from a driver's perspective.

Views are also shown of the redeveloped Gaétan-Laberge Boulevard and the multi-use path, and their connections to the highways and the new Île-des-Soeurs Bridge. An aerial view of Île-des-Soeurs highlights the different interchanges and then zooms in to show a pedestrian underpass.

Near the end of the video, a final aerial view of Île-des-Soeurs and Verdun fades to the disclaimer page. The disclaimer reads "The images shown herein are a conceptial depiction of the design proposed for the New Bridge for the St. Lawrence Corridor Project. The built works may differ from these images subject to the design developed by the Private Partner" in English.

The text then fades to the credits, which include the following organizations: ARUP; Dissing, Weitling architecture; Provencher Roy; and Groupe SMi.
