On June 19, 2015, as part of the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Champlain Bridge and the start of the New Bridge over the St. Lawrence Corridor Project, Infrastructure Canada gave a technical presentation on various project components, including the commercial component (commercial details of the partnership agreement and general allocation of risks); the financial component (project costs, method of payment, control and oversight regime, and optimization of resources); and the technical component (environmental management, architectural quality, public transit, traffic management, and real property management).

On April 15, 2015, the Government of Canada announced that Signature on the Saint-Lawrence Group has been selected as the preferred proponent for construction of the new bridge for the St. Lawrence, under a public-private partnership.

On November 27 and December 1, 2014, Infrastructure Canada participated in two information sessions on Île-des-Soeurs and Verdun, hosted by the Comité de suivi pour l'intégration du nouveau pont sur le Saint-Laurent et de ses accès (CINPA). An update and next steps on the new bridge for the St. Lawrence corridor project and the various measures to protect the environment and mitigate impacts to the community were presented. Participants also had the opportunity to visit information booths and speak one-on-one with representatives from the participating organizations.

On October 15, 2014, Infrastructure Canada hosted an information session on the relocation of Hydro-Québec towers adjacent to the Champlain Bridge in Brossard. The line segment to be moved is just under 2 kilometres long. The new line segment will run near the Highway 10 service road about 70 metres north of the current line. This work, which is scheduled to occur between January and September 2015, is necessary to proceed with the new bridge for the St. Lawrence corridor project. Learn more about Hydro-Québec's work.

On April 25, 2014, a Transport Canada official delivered a presentation on the progress on the new bridge for the St. Lawrence corridor project at the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal's Strategic Forum titled Transportation Networks: Vision and Issues for the City. Participants discussed strategies that the City of Montreal should focus on to ensure the competitiveness and growth of the transportation sector. More information on the event.

On March 31, 2014, an information session was held for potential respondents.

On March 17, 2014, the Government of Canada posted a Request for Qualifications for the new bridge for the St. Lawrence.

On January 15, 2014, Minister Lebel announced that the business case was completed and next steps for the project.

On October 18, 2013, a Transport Canada official delivered a presentation on the progress on the new bridge for the St. Lawrence corridor project at the Institut pour le partenariat public-privé's Grand Forum 2013.
