Safer and more reliable drinking water for Whale Cove residents

The Governments of Canada and Nunavut announced $500,000 in combined funding for the Whale Cove Emergency Water Supply project. For the past three years, during the summer, Whale Cove has been under boil advisories due to high levels of coliforms detected in the drinking water. This project will install a portable water treatment unit which will introduce a set of filters into the treatment plant

Nunavut communities to benefit from federal Gas Tax Fund transfer

The Government of Canada delivered the first of two annual $7.8 million federal Gas Tax Fund (GTF) installments to Nunavut. In total, the Territory will be provided over $15.7 million this year through the fund. The funding, which flows through the territorial government, is now available to support community infrastructure projects.
