How it's done

Improving the Bicycle Path in Bellechase, Quebec

The Bellechase Cycle Route in Quebec is a great place to get out and enjoy some fresh air, but it used to be very bumpy and cracked and needed to be repaired.

An excavator digs a trench in the ground

Construction workers dig trenches in the ground with a mechanical digger.

A drainage pipe is installed in the dug out trench

These pipes let the water flow under the bike path.

A cyclist sits on a park bench, under a red awning, at a rest stop along the newly paved bike path

We put smooth pavement on the bike path.

Two cyclists cross over a newly constructed, wooden pedestrian bridge

Now everyone is much more safe when they use the trail.
